The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Institute of Business Management (IoBM) organized an exclusive panel discussion on HEC National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) Proposal Submission Guidelines on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The session was designed to provide faculty members with practical guidance on developing strong, competitive research proposals in line with HEC requirements. Present on the occasion were Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Rector IoBM; and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Dean CCSIS. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Seema Ansari, Director ORIC, IoBM, who facilitated the discussion and interaction between the panelists and participants.
The panelists were Prof. Dr. Afaq Ahmed Kazi, Professor, CBM, IoBM, HEC NRPU Winner, 2022; Dr. Junaid Ansari, Associate Professor and HoD Entrepreneurship, CBM, IoBM HEC NRPU Winner, 2022; Dr. Kiran Hashmi, Associate Professor and HoD, Education Department, CESD, IoBM, HEC CPEC Collaborative Research Grant Winner, 2024; and Dr. Jamshaid Iqbal, Associate Professor, CBM, IoBM, HEC RTTG Winner, 2024.
The panel brought together faculty members who have successfully secured HEC research grants and shared their experiences of developing and submitting competitive proposals. The discussion focused on key aspects of proposal development, including clearly defining the research problem, formulating objectives, developing an appropriate methodology, presenting expected outcomes and demonstrating the potential impact of the proposed research. The panelists also shared practical lessons from their own experiences, highlighting important considerations for researchers when preparing their proposals and navigating the submission process.
The session provided faculty members with an opportunity to engage directly with experienced grant recipients, seek guidance on proposal development and gain practical perspectives on strengthening their research applications. Through such initiatives, ORIC, IoBM continues to facilitate faculty research, promote research capacity building and encourage greater participation in competitive national research funding opportunities.
