Exclusive Interactive Learning and Mentorship Day at Standard Chartered Bank

The students of the College of Business Management (CBM), Institute of Business Management (IoBM), visited the Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Head Office for an academia–industry engagement focused on connecting academic learning with industry practices and gaining first-hand insights into the banking and financial services sector.

The visit was attended by faculty members from the Departments of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, along with the Head of Academics and Student Affairs, reflecting CBM’s commitment to fostering meaningful academia–industry engagement and enriching students’ learning experiences beyond the classroom.

The sessions featured insights from SCB’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Human Resources (HR), who shared their expertise and perspectives on the evolving banking landscape, financial management, digital transformation, talent development, and emerging career opportunities. Their interaction with students provided valuable exposure to corporate practices, industry expectations, and the competencies required to thrive in a dynamic business environment. This initiative reflects the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and professional practice. Through such engagements, IoBM–CBM continues to promote experiential learning, strengthen industry connections, and prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of the evolving business landscape
