Recently, a group of students from the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) visited the head office of Bayer to present findings from their project focused on the factors affecting access to, and use of, long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) methods across public and private healthcare systems in Pakistan, with a focus on healthcare providers in Karachi.
The project examined practical, institutional, and socio-cultural barriers influencing the adoption of LARC methods in clinical practice through engagement with healthcare professionals across both sectors, providing valuable insights into current challenges and opportunities within women’s health.
The meeting also enabled meaningful discussion and knowledge-sharing around the evolving healthcare landscape in Pakistan and how it particularly affects women’s health interventions.
IoBM appreciates the students’ efforts in shedding light on this important and complex topic and values such industry-academia engagements that contribute towards informed dialogue and positive impact in the healthcare sector.
