Recently, a group of students from the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) visited the head office of Bayer to present the findings of their research project examining factors affecting access to and utilization of long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) methods across Pakistan’s public and private healthcare systems, with a particular focus on healthcare providers in Karachi.
The project examined the practical, institutional, and socio-cultural barriers that influence the adoption of LARC methods in clinical practice. Through engagement with healthcare professionals from both sectors, the students gained valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with expanding access to women’s healthcare services. The visit also provided an opportunity for meaningful discussion and knowledge exchange on the evolving healthcare landscape in Pakistan and its implications for women’s health interventions and outcomes.
IoBM commends the students for their efforts in addressing this important and multifaceted issue. The University values industry-academia collaborations that foster research-driven dialogue, contribute to evidence-based decision-making, and support positive developments within the healthcare sector.
