IoBM Alumni Silsila: An Evening of Connection, Community, and Memories

IoBM Alumni Silsila was more than just a reunion. Held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, it was an evening filled with memories, friendships, shared journeys, and a renewed sense of belonging. Sarah Mashhood, an IoBM alumna and the host of Celebrating Sweet Success, IoBM’s talk show for alumni, served as the Master of Ceremonies.

The gathering brought together IoBM alumni from 1995, the year the Institute was established, to 2025. The event was graced by the presence of IoBM’s Chancellor, Mr. Bashir Janmohammad; President, Mr. Talib Karim; Vice President FHE and Chief Advisor, Ms. Sabina Mohsin; Rector, Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro; along with members of the management and faculty.

The evening truly reflected the meaning of Silsila, a bond that continues beyond classrooms and Convocations. A special video collage honoring the Founder President, Late Mr. Shahjehan Syed Karim, celebrated the vision that brought thousands of students together and built a proud community of over 18,000 alumni.

Addressing the alumni, Chancellor Mr. Bashir Janmohammad expressed his joy at seeing former students return to their alma mater. He encouraged alumni to stay connected, create networks, help one another grow professionally, and contribute to the institution in meaningful ways.

President Mr. Talib Karim called for the establishment and strengthening of the IoBM Alumni Endowment Fund to support future generations of students.

During her address, Ms. Sabina Mohsin encouraged the alumni to continue evolving in their careers and stay connected with the institution and with one another. Her words reflected that IoBM is not just a university, but a lifelong community.

Members of the alumni association and graduates from IoBM’s earliest batches, including Farhan Ahmed, Sarosh Ahmed, Abid Vizir, Sarah Haroon, Amna Khatib-Paracha, Javed Jafri, Abrar Ahmed, and Wasif Khan, shared heartfelt reflections on their time at IoBM. They reminisced about friendships, classrooms, mentors, campus life, and the experiences that shaped their personal and professional journeys.

As conversations continued and memories were revisited, one message echoed throughout the evening: the Silsila must continue.
