Awareness seminar on Drug Abuse and its Consequences

The Institute of Business Management (IoBM), in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), organized an awareness seminar on Drug Abuse and Its Consequences at the CBM Auditorium on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

The session featured insightful talks by Ms. Nida Memon, Assistant Director, ANF Sindh, who shared valuable insights on drug abuse prevention and awareness; Dr. Maaz Tahmoor, Clinical Psychologist at ANF Model Addiction Treatment & Rehabilitation Centre, who delivered an informative presentation on drugs, their different types, and their psychological and social consequences; and Sub-Inspector Yasir Ali, ANF, who highlighted the role of law enforcement in combating narcotics-related activities.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of IoBM students, faculty members, and staff, reflecting the importance of creating awareness among young people about the risks and consequences of substance abuse.

The event was organized by the Anti-Tobacco and Narcotics Committee, IoBM, under the guidance of Brigadier (Retd.) Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Dean CCSIS and Convenor, Anti-Tobacco and Narcotics Committee, IoBM. Committee members, including Dr. Muhammad Zubair, Sartaj Hussain, and Dr. Arslan Hussain, were also present. The session was moderated by Muntaha Ashfaq, the student representative of the Anti-Tobacco and Narcotics Committee.

The event served as an important platform for promoting awareness, prevention, informed decision-making, and a healthier, drug-free community.
