The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) and the Project Management Institute (PMI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration between academia and the project management profession in Pakistan. The MoU was signed on October 14, 2026. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Rector of IoBM, and Mr. Shuja Khan, President of PMI Karachi Chapter.
The partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice by creating opportunities for students to gain industry exposure, enhance their project management skills, and connect with industry experts and professional networks.
Through this collaboration, students will be better positioned to understand industry expectations and develop the practical competencies required in a rapidly evolving professional environment. The partnership will also support experiential learning and professional development, helping prepare graduates for careers in project management.
The MoU reflects IoBM and PMI’s shared commitment to strengthening industry–academia engagement and equipping future professionals with the knowledge, skills, and practical understanding needed to contribute effectively to the project management field.
