
The Spring 2026 Orientation was conducted under the leadership of Madam Sabina Mohsin, Vice President of the Foundation for Higher Education (FHE) and Chief Advisor at IoBM. Her guidance played a key role in the successful execution of the event. The Admissions Department coordinated closely with the VP, FHE to ensure that all orientation activities were planned and conducted smoothly. This joint effort reflected a shared commitment to providing newly inducted students with a meaningful and welcoming introduction to life at IoBM.
The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) welcomed its new students during the Spring 2026 Orientation, guiding them through the academic and co-curricular opportunities that await. The proceedings were led by the Master of Ceremonies, Ms. Nida Zehra Abbas. The session began with the screening of the IoBM Documentary, which highlighted campus life, academic offerings, and student opportunities. This was followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by our Alumnus, Ammar Shahkar.
Dr. Nadia Ayub, Dean College of Economics and Social Development (CESD), delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the newly inducted students. In her address, she shared an overview of IoBM’s academic journey, highlighting the Institute’s long-standing role in developing professionals, leaders, and entrepreneurs who are making meaningful contributions across Pakistan and internationally. She emphasized the academic strengths and opportunities available to students across IoBM’s four constituent colleges: the College of Business Management (CBM), the College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCSIS), the College of Economics and Social Development (CESD), and the College of Engineering and Sciences (CES). She encouraged students to make effective use of the academic resources, faculty support, and co-curricular platforms offered by the Institute, stressing the importance of continuous learning, academic discipline, and active engagement throughout their time at IoBM.
Ms. Nida Zehra Abbas introduced the audience to the various student societies at IoBM, encouraging students to participate in societies that align with their interests. She highlighted the importance of these societies in developing essential skills through a range of events and initiatives.
The session included an address by IoBM alumnus Ammar Shahkar, Management Trainee Officer at K-Electric. Reflecting on his time at IoBM, he emphasized the impact of the Institute’s academic environment and co-curricular opportunities on his personal development and professional readiness.
In the concluding remarks, Rector IoBM, Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to both the academic success and personal development of its students. He urged students to act with integrity, acknowledge and learn from their mistakes, take ownership of their studies, remain attentive in class, respect faculty, peers, and parents, safeguard campus resources, maintain confidentiality, and manage their time effectively.
The Spring 2026 Orientation successfully laid the foundation for students as they embark on their academic journey and personal growth at IoBM.
