The 15th Conference on Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science & Statistics (MACS-15) was successfully held at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) on Saturday, December 20, 2025, under the distinguished leadership of the College of Computer Science & Information Systems (CCSIS).
Organized by CCSIS, IoBM, MACS-15 reflected the university’s strong commitment to cutting-edge research, global knowledge exchange, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The conference provided a vibrant platform for researchers, academicians, and industry professionals to engage in meaningful dialogue across technology, data science, and emerging computing domains.
The conference commenced with a Welcome Address by Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM. Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Rector IoBM and Co-Chair IEEE Karachi Section, highlighted the pivotal role of IEEE in fostering high-quality scholarly research and international collaboration.
A key highlight of MACS-15 was the presentation of the conference theme and technical roadmap by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Dean CCSIS-IoBM, who outlined the vision, objectives, and session structure of the two-day conference, reinforcing CCSIS’s leadership in advancing computing education and research excellence.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, Professor Emeritus, ICCBS, University of Karachi, and Guest of Honor Mr. Muhammad Ali Rashid, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh for Science, Information & Technology. Insightful keynote addresses were delivered by Prof. Luis Miguel Cardoso (Polytechnic Institute of Portugal), Dr. Muhammad Zeeshan Shakir (University of the West of Scotland), Mr. Naaz Scheik (CEO, SoftPak Systems USA), and Syed Hussain Sajjad (COO, TELEC Group).
MACS-15 was attended by Vice Chancellors, senior academicians, technology leaders, and industry experts, underscoring its national and international significance. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by HoD Computer Science Engr. Asghar Khan, acknowledging the conference academic partner, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University; technical sponsor, IEEE Karachi Section; and financial partners HEC Sindh, Gobi’s Paint, and Sunny Software Inc.
By hosting MACS-15, CCSIS-IoBM once again reaffirmed its dedication to research leadership, academic innovation, and global engagement, strengthening IoBM’s position as a hub for excellence in Computer Science and allied disciplines.
