The College of Business Management (CBM), Institute of Business Management (IoBM), organized an awareness session on the Protection Against Workplace Harassment on Wednesday, December 03, 2025. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Rector IoBM; Dr. Shagufta Rafif, Associate Dean CBM; and Dr. Shahid Amjad, Acting Registrar, in collaboration with the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) Sindh.

Present on the occasion were Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Dean CCSIS, IoBM; Dr. Nadia Ayub, Dean CESD, IoBM, Dr. Sarah Wali Qazi is Acting Associate Dean for Graduate and Postgraduate Programs, IoBM along with the Institute’s HoDs, faculty, management and staff. The event was hosted by Ms. Kishwer Nazli, Senior Lecturer, Communication and Languages Department, IoBM.
Distinguished speakers from FOSPAH who attended the session were: Ms. Sabika Shah, Regional Head, Sindh; Mr. Muhammad Aliyan, Assistant Law Officer; and Ms. Sidra Altaf, Assistant Registrar. During the speeches, FOSPAH representatives delivered a comprehensive and insightful presentation. They clearly defined workplace harassment, outlined its various forms (including sexual, gender-based, and power-based), and explained the legal framework under the laws and regulations.
The speakers clarified that harassment, especially of a sexual nature, is defined not only by intent but also by its impact. They guided participants through the proper procedure for submitting formal complaints to FOSPAH and emphasized the Ombudsman’s mandate to ensure swift, free, and confidential redressal. The session received an enthusiastic response from faculty, staff, and students, reinforcing IoBM’s commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all.
