
The Awareness Seminar on Drug Abuse Prevention, organized by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), was successfully held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. in the CBM Auditorium, Institute of Business Management (IoBM).
The keynote session was conducted by Mr. Maaz Tahmoor, Clinical Psychologist, who delivered an insightful and informative talk highlighting the psychological, social, and health impacts of drug abuse. The session emphasized the importance of creating a drug-free academic environment and encouraged students to make informed, positive lifestyle choices.
The speaker underscored the collective responsibility of students, faculty members, and institutions in preventing substance abuse and promoting mental well-being within educational settings. They stressed the vital role of awareness, counseling, and community engagement in sustaining a healthy and supportive campus culture.
The event was well-attended by faculty, management staff, and students, and concluded with an engaging interactive discussion session. Participants shared their views and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a drug-free and safe learning environment at IoBM.
In his closing remarks, Dean CCSIS, Brig (R) Dr. Muhammad Abbas, expressed sincere appreciation to ANF Karachi for organizing this impactful awareness session and acknowledged their continued efforts toward promoting youth well-being and drug prevention in educational institutions.
