Ms. Erum Mumtaz holds a PhD (in progress) in Computer Science from Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi, and an MS in Software Engineering from Hamdard University. She is currently serving as a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM). With over seven years of teaching experience in renowned institutions such as SZABIST ZABtech, Indus University, and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of CS & IT, She has expertise in various areas of computer science including Software Engineering, Android Development, and Web Development. She also has industrial experience in graphics design, web development, and software testing, as well as she is also a part as an External Academics Evaluator for the National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE), where she plays a key role in evaluating academic programs to ensure they meet national standards. Her technology proficiencies encompass multiple programming languages (C, C++, Java, Python), web and mobile development platforms (WordPress, Android Studio), as well as testing frameworks and methodologies.
Her research interests are focused on Natural Language Generation (NLG), where she explores cutting-edge algorithms for generating human-like text (e.g. summaries) in various applications. She has also contributed to fields like digital paleography and pattern recognition, presenting her work at the National Symposium on AI and Computer Science in 2019.
