IoBM emerges as the Runner-Up at the NUST-PNEC Olympiad 2023



The PNEC-NUST Olympiad’23 brought together passionate athletes, sports enthusiasts, and fans from all around Karachi. It was a thrilling showcase of skill, determination, and sportsmanship held from October 6 - 8, 2023 at the National University of Sciences and Technology, Karachi Campus.

The success of IoBM as the Runner-Up at the NUST-PNEC Olympiad 2023 aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. The event highlights the importance of quality education through competitive sports, fostering an environment where students can develop teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Additionally, the collaboration among 44 universities and colleges exemplifies SDG 17, emphasizing the need for partnerships to achieve shared educational and developmental objectives.

This participation not only cultivates sportsmanship but also enhances the educational experience, contributing to a more well-rounded development for students and promoting the values of cooperation and inclusivity essential for achieving sustainable development.
 

Highlights:

Opening Ceremony

The Olympiad commenced with a spectacular opening ceremony. There are approximately 44 universities/colleges from across Karachi, each bringing their unique style and strengths. More than 600 students participated in the respected Olympiad.

Exciting Matches:

The Olympiad featured three days of intense competition, with numerous memorable matches and moments.

• Winner of the Boys Squash event.
• Winner of the Girls Single Badminton Event
• Winner of the Girls Doubles Table Tennis Event
• Winner of the Boys Singles Table Tennis Event
• Winner of the Boys Doubles Table Tennis Event
• Winner of the Girls Single Table Tennis Event
• Runner-Up of Girls Single Table Tennis Event
• Runner-Up in the Girls Doubles Table Tennis Event
• Runner-Up of Boys Table Tennis Singles Event
• Runner-Up Boys Badminton Doubles Event
• The basketball, cricket, volleyball, and futsal teams played very well and reached the semifinal stages.

Winners: Pakistan Navy Engineering College (NUST)

Runner-up: Institute of Business Management (IoBM)

Closing Ceremony:

The Olympiad concluded with a grand closing ceremony, honoring the winners and participants and celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship. CTA Commodore Rashid Nazir and Commandant PNEC-NUST Commodore Tauqeer Ahmed Khawja SI(M) presented the Winner and runner-up Trophies and Shields. The Olympiad was a resounding success, not only in terms of competition but also in uniting sports lovers and fostering camaraderie.
