Institute of Business Management Shines with a Focus on Sustainability on the National Stage



The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) proudly showcased its commitment to innovation and sustainability during IDEAS-2024, held at the Expo Centre Karachi from November 19–22, 2024. IoBM’s IoT team, comprising Dr. Seema Ansari, Adeet Kumar, and Rahul Kumar, presented the Agriculture Automation System for Farmers, an advanced IoT-based solution poised to transform farming practices. The system captured significant attention for its ability to enhance productivity, sustainability, and precision in agriculture, highlighting IoBM’s drive to address pressing global challenges through technological advancements.

Adding further to IoBM's presence, Asif Z. Warsi, Senior Asst. Manager IQAE/QEC, represented the institution at the International Seminar: Pakistan Defence Production Potential—Challenges, Opportunities, and Way Forward. This participation reflected IoBM’s engagement in critical discussions on global strategies and sustainable development.

Advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals:

IoBM’s initiatives at IDEAS-2024 and its contributions to key discussions align with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 2: Zero Hunger

The Agriculture Automation System addresses the urgent need for food security by providing farmers with advanced tools to maximize agricultural productivity. By enhancing crop yields, minimizing resource wastage, and streamlining food supply chains, the system significantly contributes to eradicating hunger and malnutrition globally.

  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

By integrating IoT technologies into agriculture, IoBM fosters sustainable industrialization and promotes innovative solutions in the agricultural sector. This initiative exemplifies the development of resilient infrastructure to support economic growth and rural advancement.

  • SDG 13: Climate Action

The project’s eco-friendly design promotes sustainable farming practices, reducing water waste and optimizing energy consumption. This aligns with efforts to mitigate climate change impacts, positioning sustainable agriculture as a key adaptation strategy for a more resilient future.

  • SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions

IoBM’s participation in the “International Seminar - Pakistan Defence Production Potential: Challenges, Opportunities, and Way Forward” reflects its commitment to fostering strong institutional frameworks and global cooperation. Discussions in this forum emphasized sustainable defence strategies and policy development, contributing to peace and justice worldwide.
