The Creek High School (CHS) Award Distribution Ceremony was a moment of festivity where the future architects of Pakistan, the high-achieving students in the SSC (AKU-EB), received tokens of appreciation from IoBM’s President, Mr. Talib S. Karim; Executive Director Administration (EDA), Ms. Sabina Mohsin; Rector, Deans, and HoDs. In a noteworthy announcement, Ms. Sabina Mohsin, EDA, IoBM shared Mr. Arthur Joseph’s promotion from Headmaster CHS to Principal. This Award Distribution Ceremony was planned and coordinated amid the inspiring guidance of Ms. Sabina Mohsin.
The Creek High School (CHS), a project of The Foundation for Higher Education, organized an award ceremony to celebrate its students' achievements in the SSC (AKU-EB) Annual Examination 2023. The ceremony took place on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Amphitheatre, SSKCE Building, IoBM. Gracing the event with their inspirational presence were Mr. Talib Syed Karim, President of IoBM, as Chief Guest; Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Executive Director Administration (EDA); Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Acting Rector; Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean of CBM; Brig. Muhammad Mushtaq, Director of Administration. Dr. Sarwat Nauman, Head of the Education Department; Ms. Rumi Talib Karim, Former Advisor, CHS; Mr. Mohsin Furqan, and Ms. Salma Aijaz were also present. The high-achieving students invited to this ceremony were accompanied by their proud parents. Ms. Nazleen Iqbal was the Master of Ceremony. Hafiz Khalitus Ali recited verses from the Holy Quran.
While addressing the occasion, Mr. Talib S. Karim shared a brief history of the Creek High School and praised Ms. Sabina Mohsin's vision and efforts in establishing CHS as an institution of repute and quality. President IoBM encouraged the students to work hard and pursue the career of their dreams. He emphasized the importance of parent’s involvement throughout their university life and urged them to support their children's chosen career paths. He suggested that CHS should participate in inter-school tournaments and opined that Mr. Arthur Joseph should plan an event at CHS organized by the students to help them develop skills for life and their careers.
Earlier, during his Welcome Speech, Mr. Arthur Joseph, Headmaster of Creek High School, expressed gratitude to IoBM's President and Executive Director for their support and guidance in making this event a reality. He advised students to equip themselves with the skills required to succeed in the twenty-first century.
The Creek High School (CHS) Award Ceremony under the support and guidance of IoBM achieved another milstone and foster the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
1. SDG 4: Quality Education – The award ceremony celebrates the academic achievements of students, which directly supports SDG 4's goal of promoting inclusive and equitable quality education. It highlights the school's commitment to providing quality education, particularly through recognized performance in SSC exams.
2. SDG 5: Gender Equality – Mentioning equal encouragement for both boys and girls in the ceremony, particularly through the speech by Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed Sheikh, aligns with SDG 5, which promotes gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
3. SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – The collaboration between CHS and IoBM reflects a strong educational partnership that can be linked to SDG 17, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in achieving the SDGs, especially through education and capacity-building.
This celebration of academic excellence at CHS reflects a commitment to Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive education and recognizing students' achievements, SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by highlighting the importance of equal support for both girls and boys, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the collaboration between CHS and IoBM to foster educational growth and future leaders.
CHS student, Nabeeha Sheikh, who scored 93.9% at the SSC (AKU-EB), received a special award and cash prize from Mr. Talib Karim. In her remarks, Nabeeha acknowledged the efforts of her parents and teachers that contributed to her success. Nabeeha's parents also shared their thoughts on this occasion. His father, Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed Sheikh urged parents to equally motivate and support their children no matter if they are boys or girls.
